Excerpt from page 5 of "B.C.'s Inland Empire" by Erskine Burnett associated with this image: Wm. Fortune, not related to A L. Fortune, was also one of the Overlanders and acquired the property where the Tranquille Sanitarium now stands. He built and operated the Lady Dufferin which ran up the South Thompson in the 70's and 80's of last century. Lord and Lady Dufferin traveled on this boat when visiting this part of the country during his term of office as Governor General.
