The Falkland News was first created in 1966 to be issued weekly while the Falkland School was in session, with the aim of providing news about the Falkland area to the town. The issues were created by the Falkland School, with contributions from various members of the community. The newspaper covers a variety of news, including club notes, legion news, news about the locals, school notes, voting and elections, visitors coming and going, curling updates and schedules, and other community updates.
